School of Informatics and Telecommunications
As a School of Informatics and Telecommunications, is the first time we make an event of this nature and our motivation is simply open to the community to deliver some messages and ideas that seem important.
Over the years we have seen how it has been increasing development of Information and Communication Technologies in our country, which highlight the Latin American level with high rates of adoption and penetration.
This has not only impacted the way we work but has impacted even the way we relate to our friends and even in how we entertain and play. Our parents probably never understood or understand our dependence on foreign technologies. Much less understand that the game is fun but effective way to learn. Today we see how young people learn English to relating with their friends and fellow players around the world, we see how they learn to work together when they run a play Counter Strike, see how they persevere day after day to achieve a goal. We see how enhancing psychomotor skills and how they can organize to achieve their goals.

Additionally, in some classes students showed them the game Aspire (adapted by Cisco), The Simms style game where students also develop skills of entrepreneurship and network configuration. We got a lot of attention to the case of a student who wanted to learn subjects the following year to make further progress in the game.

The demand for professionals is higher than the existing number of professionals and graduates every year are not able to fill that gap. Previous years have done studies and 2007 projected a gap of 34% of professionals in the networking area in our country, which continue to grow and it has. Read the rest of this entry »
